Sunrise this morning:
The Caretaker spent much of the day raking out flower beds, it was pretty much dead calm on the Lake up until around Noon when the Caretaker stopped to take lunch, then the wind picked up from out of the North, quite blustery, fierce at times, a few branches came down. Before the wind came, a sizable flock of Canada geese flew over the Island heading North. The Caretaker stopped to watch them, since around the Island is a sizable amount of open water the Caretaker figured they would stop in for a bit, they didn't, they just flew over head and kept on going. Not long after they passed over head the Caretaker heard a sprinkling in the water, he turned to see what it was, some of the geese left behind some fertilizer. He laughed, glad that they missed, of course the Caretaker's head was the intended target.
After lunch the Caretaker raked out the mint beds, while moving his rake through the beds removing the leaves a quite wonderful aroma was released, a mix of mint, leaves and moist early Spring soil--a mix of earthy, sweet, and sharp. If the aroma could be tasted it would make for a great tea.
