Before there was the blog the Caretaker sent out posts via e-mail, the following is from the Caretaker's second winter on the Island:

Outside temp: 12 F
Ghetto temp: 55 F
Wind: 5 to 10 mph, variable, gusting to 20
Sky: patchy clouds, mostly sunny
Precipitation: None.
The Caretaker spent part of the night shoveling snow from the ice to make an ice ring. He was originally thinking of doing an entire rink, but the snow didn't get any lighter as the night wore on. It was a nice moonlit night to be out on the ice. Today was not too exciting, although the Caretaker did make a trip into town because he had to pick up 15 gallons of kerosene from his car. The snow is quite dry so when the wind did blow it would whip up the snow from the ice. Not much to report on in town, rarely ever is.
I hope everyone enjoyed the Super Bowl.
