The Caretaker's Concern for 4/8/2010

TCC for 4/8/10

4/8/10:

3/18/10:

Before there was the blog the Caretaker sent out posts via e-mail, the following is from the Caretaker's second winter on the Island:

1/28/07:
Lake appears to have iced over completely.
Sun with clouds, wind from the East (from the Narrows) 5-10 mph, gusting up to 20/25.
Outside temp. 16 F.
Ghetto temp. 55 F. and rising.
A few ice fisherman were seen on the Lake in Huddle bay yesterday, low number of ice fisherman indicates they were probably either very daring or very desperate--
probably both.
Caretaker recommends against traveling on ice.
Zero chance for black ice, much of the ice is snow covered, broken up and frozen together and formed in slight mounds. White ice visible. Note, ice observations
are from the Island, once ice is safe to travel, some black ice may be further out.
