The Caretaker's Concern for 7/31/2010

TCC for 7/31/10:

No photos today, no report. Come Monday (or Tuesday) much will be shared.

Before there was the blog the Caretaker sent out posts via e-mail, the following is from the Caretaker's second winter on the Island:

Island Ice Report for 3/29/07:

Lake Temperature: 35 F

The wind was from the East again, and almost as strong. Skiing in to town was a breeze, skiing back was up river the whole way. The wind eventually died down by this evening. The night is crystal clear, the moon is not yet full but it is one of those nights when you can walk around the Island without a flashlight. Hopefully when the moon is full it will be just as clear.

Of the attached photos the first one is pretty straight forward, the following two are actually upside down, and the last three are of the moon. These last three will probably be part of a larger project that the Caretaker is working on, if all goes well he will amass enough for it to work, thankfully he is working in digital for this project and won't have to waste lots and lots of film in order to get what he is looking for.

In other news, so far there have been two ideas for the 20 foot long tree trunk: totem pole and very narrow canoe. If any one else feels inclined to share any ideas they may have for this tree trunk, by all means please pass them along.
